Transport

Here at Bigfoot we can rely on 17 years' experience to advise and provide the most efficient travel arrangements to get you from your home to the slopes.

If you have booked one of our catered chalet holidays, the price includes your Airport Transfers from Geneva. With our self catering and hotel holidays, we are more than happy to help organise transport for you at a cost of £55 per person for the return journey. Despite being nestled in the heart of the Alps, Chamonix is only an hour from Geneva Airport meaning you can often squeeze in a few extra runs on the slopes at either end of your stay!

Alternative airports include Milan (Italy, 3½ hrs), Turin (Italy, 2½ hrs) and Lyon (France 2½ hrs) from which we recommend booking a transfer with our partner ATS who deliver professionally and proficiently throughout the Alps and the whole of Europe. You can book your own transfer by visiting ATS, or if you prefer, Bigfoot can arrange transfers on your behalf - just contact us.

By Car

Chamonix is easily accessible by car should you wish to drive. You can plan your road-trip online with Mappy.

All the well-known vehicle hire companies have sales desks within the airport terminals and can be easily booked online (again, we can do this on your behalf if required) should you wish to have a vehicle in resort.

By Train

Chamonix has its own train station (Chamonix Mont-Blanc) with connections to the SNCF lines from St Gervais/Le Fayet and Vallorcine. There are also links to the TGV service at Annecy. Check out www.sncf.com for timetables and booking details.

Once in Resort

However you arrive in Chamonix, you will need to navigate the valley once you are here. Our catered packages in chalets and hotels include a chauffeur service to and from the slopes each day. The in resort team are also there to take you into the centre should you not be based within Chamonix Town.

If you are staying in one of our self-catered apartments there are two options to get yourselves to and from the slopes. Firstly, hiring a car - enabling you to come and go as you please and also giving you the opportunity to make day trips to other nearby resorts such as Megeve and Courmayeur. However, although a car can be an asset, it can also be a hindrance as parking spaces can often be at a premium. The second option is therefore the Chamonix Ski Bus, a regular and efficient service which is completely free to use with your ski pass.
